Every tenth death in India is caused by diseases linked to inadequate sanitation.
800,000 annual deaths in India are due to infection.
50% of them occur from gastroenteritis due to unsanitary infrastructure.

BEFORE

Founded in 1974, the Indo-Canadian Friendship Society of British Columbia is a registered charitable society and NGO with a mission to provide rural Indian villages with:

Access to clean drinking water, sewerage disposal systems, waste-water treatment plants, sanitary living conditions, concrete-paved village streets, solar street lighting, computers in local schools.

AFTER

ICFSBC has completed the development of eighteen villages.  Upon the completion of each project, there was a marked difference in the health and hygiene of the inhabitants in these villages.  There was also significant decrease in the incidence of common infectious diseases, such as dengu fever, malaria, typhoid, and gastroenteritis.
